Computer modern font is designed by Charles Bigelow and Kris Holmes in 1984. It is currently the default font for the LaTeX typesetting system.
The font was first used in the “Cambridge Companion to Plato” and later in “Leslie Lamport’s book on TeX”.

This typeface is a serif font, meaning it includes small lines at the ends of the main strokes of each letter. This is in contrast to sans-serif fonts, which do not include these lines.
